Our PE and Health program is accessed by students right across the schools. In these session we build and develop both the fine motor skills and gross motor skills of our students. The focus for the PE session is dependant on the year level and changes on a regular basis. As a part of this program, students also look at lifestyle habits, healthy eating and social development.
On top of their weekly PE and health sessions, students from Grades P-2 attend PMP (Perceptual Motor Program). This program is used as a strategy to assist the development of children's gross motor skills and therefore assist with the development of fine motor skills, essential in the learning of reading and writing. Students from Grades 3-6 are provided with opportunities to represent our school in swimming, cross country and athletics. They are given coaching and skill building through their weekly sessions in sport. We always achieve pleasing results from our students and love to see how many approach these challenges with a positive mindset. |
